FR. 27.8. Ålesund - Atlantic Road - Kvisvik

പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു: 27.08.2021

All day sunny and warm

We have breakfast on the terrace, the sun is already warming.

Then we pack the car, drop off the keys to the cabin, and take a final bike ride to Ålesund, we want to climb up to Aksla. This is the city's mountain, 418 steps lead from a park to a terrace with great views in all directions. The air is clear, we can see far and are glad we made the effort.

Then we continue northeast, we drive just before Kristiansund on a famous stretch of road, the "Atlantic Road". These 8.3 km connect the places Vevang and Kårvag, pass in bold curves right along the sea over several bridges, islands and skerries and are very popular with tourists, they are found in abundance at all viewpoints. We drive in the best weather conditions, it must be adventurous here in stormy weather and high waves. But honestly: if you have already cycled between Lofoten islands with adverse weather conditions over many bold bridges, you are not really impressed!

Before and after Kristiansund we have to drive very long and steep tunnels, in addition there is heavy traffic, which is extremely exhausting. We are glad to soon leave the main route and reach our pre-booked cabin by the fjord in Kvisvik. We go swimming, eat on our terrace overlooking the water, distant mountains and the sunset, and are happy to experience so much summer here in the north.
