So...somewhat delayed, we are reporting from New Zealand. Not because we were too lazy to write texts and select pictures, but because we simply had almost no internet access or it was too bad.
In New Zealand, we will let the pictures do the talking more often without much text and link them to the respective places.
As an introduction, a little more text:
As mentioned before, we spent the first 10 days driving along the East Coast of the South Island in a camper van with Rahel's mom. We were blown away by the beauty of this island. What we particularly liked, compared to Australia, is that camping is much simpler. With a self-contained camper van (with its own toilet), you can usually park and stay wherever you like. And even if you have to stay in an official campsite, there are many simple DOC (Department of Conservation) campsites that are located in beautiful places right by the beach and only cost a few dollars.
We picked up the camper van in Christchurch from Ricky. He rented us his own camper van through the Share a Camper website at a fair price (highly recommended). Then we did some shopping for the next few days and drove along the coast a bit south. The first spot wasn't the prettiest, but it was free and right by the sea. =)
