Today we leave Quebec City again and continue east. We pack everything and have our car brought. With everything loaded, we set off, making a sightseeing stop just a few minutes into our journey. Thanks to slightly different navigation techniques, it takes an extra loop, but in the end, we're there.
The Montmorency Falls are not as impressive as the Niagara Falls. Nevertheless, they are higher and we can view them from below. The water cloud that is created by the falls streams towards us as we walk closer. The closer we get, the more pleasant the climate becomes.
We admire the falls for some time, but then continue to our actual destination about 220km to the east. The road, initially three lanes, becomes one lane at the end. There are fewer and fewer houses and towns to be seen along the roadside. The road also constantly goes up and down (up to 10% incline and descent). The engines of the trucks groan on the hills, while the brakes glow on the downhill journey.
After about 3 hours, we reach the top of the last hill and reach the end of the road. We can't go any further. A huge river, the Saguenay River, prevents us from continuing directly. We have to cross it with the official ferry. And after a short wait, we board the car ferry. Our next accommodation is located directly on the other side in the town of 'Tadoussac'. The crossing is quick and a few minutes later we are on the other side - and so we are 'when you sack' :)
Other points of interest: check-in, explore the village, eat something, and then off to bed ;)
