A day at Wrightsville Beach, NC

Today, we planned to have a beach day. The weather was excellent. Sandy was so kind and lent us two bicycles, beach towels, and a cooler. Equipped with everything, we cycled about 5km to Wrightsville Beach. The beach itself consisted of a relatively narrow area of fine sand. The rest of the beach was covered in shell fragments.

At first, the waves crashing onto the beach were quite high and not inviting for swimming. So we waited for a while. After we both briefly dozed off, we decided to give it another try. Now the waves, which had previously been incredibly powerful, were not as strong anymore. Steffi, being brave, took the first step into the water. After just a few meters, we couldn't touch the ground anymore. We stayed in the water for a while and then cooled off and returned to our spot on the beach. The beach itself was relatively uncrowded. In the late afternoon, we took the bikes to explore the area. We came across a pier with a restaurant at the beginning, where we decided to stop. From there, we had a good view of all the surfers waiting for good waves.

After eating, we went to the end of the pier. There were two anglers trying to catch sharks. Quite curious: surfers next door, and then shark anglers... With a slight sunburn (Stefan), we headed back to the accommodation.

Best regards,

Steffi and Stefan
