Arriving in Tarifa, we do not expect such strong winds. We are here at the southernmost point of Europe and only 15km away from Africa. The small campsite is much more to our liking. We end up on a site mainly inhabited by surfers and chickens. In addition to the wind, we also struggle with rain, so we mainly stay in Polly. Of course, we can't stand that for long and go to explore the beach. An incredibly long beach right next to a nature reserve. A paradise for windsurfers... and us.

On Halloween, we decide to explore the town and search for the supposed Halloween parade through the center. The only problem is that the direct way to Tarifa leads through the beach. Actually not a problem. But when we start, we notice that the beach is partially under water due to the last flood and bad weather. The other option would be to walk on a country road behind guardrails. Currently not an option for us. So we take off our shoes and initially carry Rocky through the water along the beach. Unfortunately, Nicole miscalculated the distance and we walk 3.3km through the water on the beach alone until we reach the beginning of the town. Another 2 km to the old town. Eventually we arrive and can't find the parade but a cute old town. Relatively half-heartedly, we slowly make our way back. The only problem is that the beach is now pitch dark. So we decide to walk 3km back along the country road. Thankfully, we have a flashlight with us. After 2 nights, we continue our journey towards Portugal.
