Elephant Camp

Yesterday we ended up in the Elephant Camp Ban Kwan here on Koh Chang. There are about 20 female elephants of the best age living there. The pachyderms move freely on the large grounds and are cared for by animal keepers. Short rides are also offered. Actually, I had planned not to ride elephants because you always read terrible news about it. But then we decided to go for a short ride anyway. The 30-year-old female elephant calmly carried us through the jungle for about 30 minutes. In a small river, she took the opportunity to "refresh" herself - and also us 💦😄

We continued past huge rubber plantations to return to the starting point.

Then we got a handful of bananas as a reward... not only for the female elephant 😄
