Seville and home visit

Despite all the studying, I naturally want to make the most of my semester abroad and went on an organized day trip to Seville last weekend. Sounds weird, was also exhausting. Seven hours bus ride there, nine hours stay, seven hours bus ride back... but it was worth the effort. Seville is one of the best Spanish/Southern European cities I have had the chance to visit so far. A super beautiful and especially very green city, even greener than Madrid (which in my opinion already has many green areas). I definitely want to come back here for a few days at some point.

When we arrived in Seville, we tried to visit some sights of the city during our short stay. The weather was quite good, it was really nice and warm, but fortunately (that I write this..) cloudy, so it wasn't too hot. You could actually feel the difference in humidity compared to Madrid. In the afternoon, we went to the city's spring festival, the 'Feria de Abril'. Roughly speaking, you can imagine the whole thing as a 'Spanish Oktoberfest', also with traditional clothing and many small festival tents, but with fewer drunk people on the streets. Spanish music is playing everywhere, and people are dancing to it. Again, very worth seeing and experiencing! In the evening, the whole thing was topped off with a fireworks display, which is not something you would see in Germany. At two o'clock in the morning, we headed back to Madrid.

But the weekend didn't end for me there. When I arrived home in the morning, I took a few hours to sleep (the bus wasn't the most comfortable place to sleep), before picking up my good friend Lena from Germany at the airport, who came to visit me for 3 days.

During these days, we had a great time here in Madrid, and I discovered new places that I didn't know before. In addition to a boat ride in Retiro, a glass of wine over the rooftops of Madrid was of course a must-do. I also finally had the chance to try my beloved Mexican food in another restaurant. To end the visit, we sat at the 'Templo de Debod' on the last evening with other friends and let the visit come to a relaxed end. It were a few great days, thank you Lena!
