Creating the Sculptures in Sand

Before the work on the sculptures can begin, the sand needs to be prepared. For this purpose, the sand is filled with water in a wooden form, then moistened and compacted with vibrating plates. The forms are then stacked on top of each other in a system that gradually reduces in size.Once all forms are filled and the sand is well compacted, the top forms are removed and the sculpting can begin. One starts from the top and works down towards the ground, removing the forms as the work progresses.
Furthermore, there is great flexibility in the construction of the sculptures. They can be built as standalone works, taking on pyramid shapes, oval shapes, elongated shapes, and can consist of one or multiple peaks. One can also work with different types of sand and gravel, and it is possible to work with various colors.
The great flexibility serves to create variety, and thus two sculptures cannot be compared. Working with sand sculptures is easy, practical, economical, and environmentally friendly. The sculptures are created from direct resources - namely sand and water.
There is no material loss because the same sand can be used repeatedly. In this way, the sculptures do not contribute to environmental pollution, as the sand re-enters the natural cycle after use.
