As mentioned in the previous post, my phone gave up the ghost. Thanks to the lovely travelers I met at the hostel who provided me with these pictures here. The time with you on the island was fantastic!
So, while still in Krabi, I went to the shop. They actually managed to turn on the phone, but it froze again and never turned on again. The display didn't respond even when charging. Finally, they said it was the CPU - basically a total loss. I couldn't find a used replacement device anywhere, so I just went to Ko Lanta without a phone. At the hostel, I met an English girl named Angelique who kindly lent me her laptop after hearing my story. It was also a social experiment, and I was overwhelmed by how helpful strangers can suddenly be when you just ask for help and explain your situation.
During those days, the six of us from the hostel went kayaking. One of my favorite activities of the entire trip. Just doing some sports in the middle of nature in the mangrove swamps. We were even allowed to attach ourselves to a boat and hitch a ride against the current. And we had bought some monkey food beforehand, but unfortunately not enough.
We heard the girls screaming and saw a giant monkey suddenly jump into the water and swim towards them. They threw the package of food into the water, and the monkey was happy. But since when can monkeys swim? We also found some monkeys in the mangroves and threw some food into the water. Some monkeys actually jumped into the water. The girls immediately started their return journey after their encounter. The four of us guys in two kayaks still had fun with the monkeys. One monkey even jumped onto the tip of the other kayak, and we heard the others scream as the monkey quickly jumped back out of fear. Overall, it was really funny and exciting to see. In the end, we saw two dots in the water. A mother monkey and her child were crossing the swamp. All the things you can experience in nature. For lunch, we went to the Greek restaurant. It was a feast! And in the afternoon, we went to a more secluded beach.
