Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand, made it into my heart from the first moment. The people here are just incredibly friendly and helpful. Entry, which is so notorious and strict, was problem-free and I found it to be more relaxed than in some other countries. The city is located right on the sea with a large harbor, so the smell of the sea is in the air throughout the city and there is always a bit of wind. Starting the first evening with a sunset at Mount Eden, a volcanic crater, overlooking Auckland was simply the best decision and nothing short of breathtaking. The next day started with a city tour. The city center, harbor, fish market and all parks were searched. The city itself is very green with a lot of parks and also very clean. In the harbor I was just amazed at the huge yachts docked there. The rest of the day was just spent having fun and making homemade dinners at the hostel. The first โhikeโ in New Zealand didnโt take long to arrive and I did it the next day. We took the ferry to Waiheke Island and then hiked along the coast. Past beautiful beaches, coasts and lots of vineyards. The afternoon was just enjoyed on the beach and the sea was still pretty cold but no reason for me not to jump into the sea ๐ At sunset we went back to the mainland to Auckland. On my last day here in Auckland I enjoyed the city again and experienced it on a busy weekday. Of course, the botanical garden with its winter gardens couldn't be missed. The afternoon was rainy, typical for New Zealand. But it also has its charm with the subsequent sunset โจ
New Zealand fascinated and enchanted me from the very first moment. Can't wait to see more of it!
