See the sea one last time - Mompiche and Pedernales

Unfortunately, the optimism with which we had gotten on the bus disappeared quite quickly, namely when after about an hour, the children had just fallen asleep, the bus stopped and we were told that we all had to change buses. We couldn't find out exactly what the problem was, but there was nothing we could do about it anyway. The other bus was already pretty full, but at least we all got a seat and the children were even able to sleep next to each other thanks to a nice lady who moved us. But since one film after another was playing on this bus, we all had a hard time falling asleep. At some point, when Jano had already made it into the realm of dreams, Márton got up and persuaded the bus driver to turn off the film, unfortunately shortly before the end of the second film. So unfortunately Ani and I don't know how the film ends, but at least we were able to get some sleep. But it felt like I could only fall asleep after the bus stopped a second time, it was already dusk, and half of the passengers, thank God not us, had to get back on another bus. When we arrived in Atakames we took a taxi and drove to the longed-for beach. When we got there, heat and dust awaited us. The hostel that we had chosen on the Internet had probably not had any visitors for a long time, cigarette butts and beer cans were lying around, the pool was empty and the rooms had not been aired for a long time. So we looked around the village for other accommodation and found it. We wanted to spend two days there, but first we wanted to eat something. Ani remembered that it was Tuesday and Bayern were playing in the Champions League. So we looked for the right channel and Márton and I had the best 90 minutes of sleep of our lives. 3 to 0, the children were absolutely thrilled. Later we went to the beach, which wasn't visible when we arrived because of the high tide, and the children built spill castles and swam in the sea with Márton and lots of driftwood. In the evening I wanted to withdraw money, but the machine refused to let me and since Márton had lost his card again, we couldn't say whether it was the card or other circumstances. The fact was that we still had 50 dollars. The next morning, Márton tried to send money via Western Union, but that wasn't possible either due to technical problems. I was afraid that we would get stuck somewhere near the end of our trip and persuaded Márton to drive to the next town, after breakfast of course. Since I got the time wrong again, we took a lot of time, almost too much time, and at some point Márton looked at his cell phone and said our bus was leaving in 20 minutes. So we packed our things in a hurry and left after only one night, with 30 dollars still in our luggage. In Pedernales our taxi had technical problems, but I got money from the ATM. So we booked ourselves into a hotel on the beach for one night and the kids jumped into the pool. We went into the sea again in the evening and again the next day before heading back to the bus station. We didn't have to wait long for our bus to leave and our connecting bus was already leaving when we arrived with our bus. So we quickly hopped in and were let out at the junction to our next and final destination: Mindo. A nice young man took us the last few kilometers in his pick-up truck and we were out of the dusty heat and into the wet jungle.
