2nd Day - from Merseburg to Großjena

Hello dear ones,

On the second day of my hike, I went from Merseburg to Großjena via Freyburg. The total distance was 30 km again.

The day started with a delicious breakfast at the guesthouse in Merseburg. By the way, the elderly couple who run the guesthouse are absolutely lovely. They allowed me to take with me whatever I couldn't finish for breakfast on my daily leg. During a little chat at the breakfast table, I also found out from them that the young girl I met at the bakery, whose dad I had met, had also stayed with them in March. :)

The route on this day was incredibly beautiful. Along picturesque field paths, through shady forests, and past the vineyards on the Saale-Unstrut cycle path.

On the way to Freyburg, I passed through a forest cemetery. I have never walked through one before. I actually find the idea of ​​having the final resting place in the forest interesting. By the way, Freyburg is also a very beautiful city that is naturally all about wine. Definitely worth a visit! Here I finally got my first stamp from a church/cathedral.

From Freyburg, I continued along the Unstrut with plenty of sunshine on my face until Großjena. :)
