San Juan del Sur - the surfer's paradise

Unfortunately, we had really bad wifi in the last hostel, so I couldn't post anything in the last few days. Now we are in Esteli, a small city in northern Nicaragua. The hostel is very nice and thank god the wifi here is better.
But now some information about San Juan del Sur. This nice little town is located on the Pacific and is the surf paradise of Nicaragua. Among backpackers, San Juan del Sur is particularly known for Sunday Funday. Here you celebrate from Sunday noon in four different hostels with a DJ, pool and everything else that goes with it. Of course, we didn't want to miss that and arrived in San Juan on Saturday evening. Sunday Funday was an expensive fun with a $30 entrance fee without drinks, but it's definitely worth a visit.
On Monday afterwards we spent time at our really tiny pool and relaxed.
Since there were so many surf schools in San Juan del Sur, we took the opportunity to take two hours of surf lessons. These took place at the nearby Playa Maderas. The lessons were not for free and now we have at least learned the basics.
