The night was short, in St. Maarten there is Carnival. So, I had to get up at 4 o'clock, Hannah!!! In Philipsburg, there was a parade, my boss said it's a must-see!
Actually, I had a date with Marie, the girl from yesterday. We were supposed to go to the parade together and meet the guys from yesterday. I waited for her for half an hour but she must have overslept, so I went without her.
It was crazy. Everyone was dressed as skimpy as possible, some even in costumes. Even very fat women wore something like a swimsuit. Honestly, it didn't look bad at all. There was free alcohol distributed by the carnival trucks. They drove through the streets one after another. Behind each truck, there were crowds of people dancing. Many locals but also tourists. They were twerking like I've never seen before in my life. The locals in St. Maarten are dark-skinned, and it's not a lie to say that they are born with rhythm in their blood. It was just amazing, everyone so happy!
Some of the dances were not suitable for young people... and you couldn't come out of it clean. Some people were sprayed with liquid chocolate, others with beer, etc...
But my lack of sleep caught up with me quickly, and I had to go back to bed.
When I woke up again, I went to a beach on the other side of a mountain. I arrived all sweaty and just wanted to get into the cool water. What I didn't know was that the beach was full of algae, so I couldn't even lie down. Disappointed, I went back home... that was already my second day in paradise.
