I have to admit that I was a little disappointed with Jim, Keeley, and Monica. There are rules in the project that both the children and their parents have to sign when a child is admitted to the project. Starting with rules of behavior such as no hitting, kicking, throwing stones, swearing, stealing, and the like. And what they have to bring to class every day (pencil, eraser, notebook), as well as a bowl, cup, and utensils if they want to eat in the project. In addition, repeated lateness and unexcused absences are strictly enforced according to the statutes. My perception was that the latter in particular was treated quite loosely. I don't think that's good because then places for other children who WANT to learn are blocked (Ooh, how s...y). Last Friday (I wasn't there, I was in Costa Rica illegally), there was an internal meeting and then at the assembly where the best class and the best students were honored, a clear message to everyone. More discipline, kids! And since today, there's a new wind blowing in the classrooms. For example, little Leydi was not allowed to participate in class because she was more than 5 minutes late (it was 6 minutes). Oh, miracle, at least for today they were impressed. Listening, waiting until it's your turn, letting excuses go - that worked reasonably well. We'll see.

Today, Franchesca wasn't at school. That's why I took over a child from Silvana. Gustavo is a fidget and screams for negative attention. Just the right thing for the specialist in patience issues! He didn't do what he was supposed to do or only for a few seconds. He constantly tried to distract. And if he didn't urgently need a drink or to pee, then he couldn't find his pen. After 20 minutes, I gave up. Maybe we can try again tomorrow if he changes his behavior. Keeley (the highest authority accepted by the children by 100%) gave him one last chance before someone else takes his place. He didn't expect that. I hope she follows through with it.

The photos: at first, I had no idea what kind of group was walking through the streets today. Lots of jugglers and high-wheel riders. Google knew more: a street festival with many activities to raise awareness of environmental issues.

The weather: it's summery.
