4 nights of sleeping on the train to Irkutsk

The train journey starts very adventurous. In the middle of the night, the train arrives at one of the many train stations in Moscow. Once the ticket has been checked, you find yourself in the compartment where all bags are stored so that you can sleep soon.

Sleeping on the train works well for me, it rattles and jolts almost like in a baby carriage. The days blur, the hours pass. At some point, I no longer know if it is morning or already afternoon - the train always shows Moscow time (to avoid chaos), outside we are driving through different time zones.

Through constantly being together and meeting again at the train stations to stretch our legs, I develop acquaintances with fellow travelers. So I met Huji from Japan, among others, who repeatedly invites me into his compartment where I can sit down (which is not self-evident, you have a berth). Two of my fellow passengers in the compartment are also very friendly through gestures and facial expressions, so we understand each other even if we don't speak the same language.

So after four days and nights on the train, I am a bit melancholy to say goodbye to these people, but at the same time I am also happy to be able to walk as far as I want and to truly feel stillness in a standing position.
