Kerikeri, Whangarei and Bay of Islands

In the past two weeks, we have seen a lot of things that we need to write about in multiple posts.

For the past two weeks, we have not been at the campground in Russell. Instead, we decided to explore the North Island a bit more before starting our job this week.

We were lucky to get paid jobs for a weekend in Russell last week, which allowed us to continue traveling.

Charly was able to run the cafe at the campground during the long weekend, and Dirk helped several private individuals with renovation work in their garden and house.

We miss the campground, the atmosphere was great between the staff and the bosses, which made working there really fun.

So far, what has been really great is that we have already met several super helpful Kiwis (people) who have sacrificed their time to show us special places.

We continued to Kerikeri on Tuesday, where we did the waterfall hike, similar to in Whangarei. In Whangarei, we also had the opportunity to sleep in the old prison and Dirk finally got to see his Kiwis (birds).
