Jostedal Glacier and trip to Otta

പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു: 10.03.2022

The weather is, as almost always, gorgeous again. The tour today started early in the morning to the Jostedal Glacier, the largest glacier in Norway. It was said that the ascent was also possible with children on one arm of it. Today we were totally surprised by Chillar, he was so motivated and was in the leading group together with Bolle, closely followed by the others. 3.5 km up the mountain, 3.5 km down again. A beautiful hiking tour with interesting information about where the glacier used to be since the 16th century and how far it has receded in 50-year increments due to climate change. In between, there was of course some warm milk.

Then the journey was supposed to continue towards Geirangerfjord, emphasis on supposed, because there are not many roads in Norway, even fewer are free of snow, and the one road that was supposed to be free was unfortunately completely snowed in, so we couldn't drive through here with over 2 meters of snow.

Thus, we had to take a detour via Otta, where we also spent the night at a campsite, and tomorrow we will head towards Trondheim for the next destination.
