The journey begins

Now it was finally time, the journey could begin.

One is a little more nervous than when leaving on a regular vacation, and the luggage is a bit more. Otherwise, it's the same.

A good friend accompanied us to the airport where we had to take the train first.

Cologne-Düsseldorf, a route we are familiar with to start our vacation.

We left early, as we had heard about the problems with the security service in Düsseldorf.

The check-in was still closed and there wasn't much going on. When it finally started, we were quickly processed. Oh, the security check went without any problems. So we started with Vueling (I didn't know them before :-) ) half an hour late towards Barcelona.

Barcelona is very well organized. There are dedicated buses that take you to the city center, so we quickly reached our first destination. Hotel Lleo near Placa Catalunya. A hotel that I can recommend with confidence. Very clean, freshly renovated, and a good breakfast.

After dinner on 'La Rambla' and a 'good night beer', the first day was over.
