Ilha Grande

After saying goodbye to Judith, I took a public bus for two and a half hours to Angras dos Reis. From there, I walked from the bus station to the port to take a boat to Ilha Grande. Everything went smoothly and by late afternoon, I was already at the hostel. The hostel was simply amazing. Clean, spacious, air-conditioned, with a good breakfast. After having dinner at a restaurant and doing some shopping, I walked back to the hostel. There, I met the three German guys again, who were also at the same hostel in the previous town. Along the way, they met a German girl from Munich whom I spent the next day with. By chance, we also met another German girl from Munich during breakfast, who also spent the day with us.

The three of us set off to the port to embark on a three-hour hike. We walked through the jungle, over hills, and along the beach. We took breaks in between to enjoy various beaches. The last beach, our ultimate destination, was called Lopes Mendes. It was a beautiful, long, white sandy beach with crystal clear water. For the return journey, we took a kind of ferry and in the evening, we cooked together.

The next day, we went to the beach "Lopes Mendes" again, as we liked it so much. But this time, we took a ferry both for the journey there and back.

After three nights on the beautiful island, it was time for me to return to the mainland to catch a bus to Arraial do Cabo.
