Kardamili - Postcard motifs

With fresh, fine spices on board, we are heading to Kardamili today. On the one hand, this picturesque village has been highly recommended to us because of its charm and its beaches and bays, and on the other hand, there is a climbing spot with a sea view. So overall, very promising.

Kardamili is located on the middle finger, of the three fingers. So, on the middle finger. Haha.

From Kalamata, you could already catch a glimpse of the mountainous, green peninsula and roughly imagine how the landscape would change on today's journey.

I had almost expected it to be more mountainous. But you can't really imagine it beforehand, because I am always surprised anew by the different world that can unexpectedly open up to you on the way.

As soon as you leave the city behind, you find yourself in the midst of a picturesque mountain landscape. The deep clouds and the light mist that lay over the green hills made the area appear almost mystical. The unique landscape with its wild, original vegetation, the old stone houses, the remains of ancient buildings, and the striking churches tell a fabulous story that you want to immerse yourself in with all your senses.

The most diverse flowers and shrubs bloom by the roadside. What grows here seems to be extremely diverse and is delightful to look at. Spring enchants the mountains and valleys into a colorful, vibrant world that shows us the all-encompassing beauty of nature.

Until the early afternoon, it drizzled on and off in the area in and around Kardamili. Because of this, we visited the climbing area, but postponed climbing until tomorrow. Instead, we found a cozy spot from where we could visit the little charming village of Kardamili. In the afternoon, the sun and the blue sky returned...

Walking through the charming streets and alleys of the 'old Town' in this emperor's weather was a real pleasure. The typical stone houses, framed with all sorts of colorful, fragrant flowers, are among other things the reason for the good reputation and popularity of the place. And all of this is surrounded by mountains and the sea with rocky coastlines.

You can also find some nice shops here, as well as charming restaurants that match the overall flair of the village.

Today, the day also offered us a new facet of Greece. Maybe even a part of the country that represents Greece particularly well and is partly why it has been attracting people and inspiring them for years.
