on the go in Kyoto

We have a cozy accommodation in Kyoto. A small apartment just for us (Thanks Kento <3). The location is great, a huge playground is just a few minutes away. The beautiful Umekoji Park is adjacent to it. The aquarium and the railway museum are also located there. We go to the playground almost every day. The three of us girls also go to the railway museum (although I'm not really into trains and locomotives). Salia and Namira love the trains and you can pull levers and push buttons in the museum. We also ride a locomotive - it's a great feeling.

Toji Temple (Kyo-o-gokoku-ji) is not far either. This Buddhist temple is a World Heritage Site and was first built in the 9th century. The buildings themselves are not that old, but have been restored according to ancient models. The five-story pagoda is the highest of its kind in Japan and was rebuilt in the 17th century. The panels next to the temple buildings with the many characters look very beautiful. They have something decorative. What could be written there? Feel free to write your guesses in the comments.
Kento - you know, so don't reveal it for now ;)

Kyoto has very beautiful spots, such as the riverside promenade on the Kamo River. We are there to extend our stay by another day at the immigration office (yes... please don't ask why). We cool off by the river and listen to a student playing the flute.

Since Robin is in the Waldorf school in Kyotanabe, the three of us wander around the city. We end up in a big mall and have trouble finding our way around. Eventually, we make it out alive - but with a lighter wallet...
