Day 12: Saying goodbye and welcoming

പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു: 26.01.2017

The night at the airport was cold, uncomfortable, and very interesting. Now it was time to say goodbye. On one hand, to our good friend and travel companion Flo, who was flying back to Germany (at this point, thank you Flo for the great time!) and on the other hand, to Portugal. We had a very nice time here, saw incredible things, and met very nice people. The coasts and landscapes are overwhelming, the cities very chaotic, the street signs a torture, the people very easy-going, the food cheap, the cigarettes expensive, every Lidl has free Wi-Fi, wild camping doesn't bother anyone here, and there are oranges, mandarins, and lemons everywhere.

Next destination São Paulo, Brazil. We survived the eleven-hour flight quite well and arrived in Brazil around 7:30 pm at 28°C. After that, we spent three hours at the airport trying desperately to figure out how to get money and to our host family until we decided to take the fastest and safest way: a taxi for €56. Our host family, consisting of Carlos, Sandra, their 25-year-old daughter Gianna, and their two dogs, welcomed us very warmly and made sure that we could finally fall into our bed with a full stomach and freshly showered.
