Although it has been more than 3 months since I returned, I feel like I need to close everything here again.
My last weeks in Canada were the most eventful I've ever experienced. There were few free days, the last hours were fully utilized. These weeks were the ones that showed me: This is my life and I will have to leave it now. I didn't have the typical emotional chaos, as everyone always says, I was aware that one day I would have to give up this life, but I didn't really realize it until the flight.
On 01.07.18, I woke up knowing that it would be my last morning in this room, in this country. My flights were uncomplicated, I was lucky that a very good friend (German) was with me on the flight to Vancouver and could wait with me there. I then boarded the plane to Frankfurt and she still had to wait for hers. So at least I spent my last hour in Canada in good company. Our best friends had also come to the airport in Comox, at least those who were still in the country. The flight over Comox made the place feel so familiar, you knew the landscape, associated so many memories with it.
This place has given me so much, I will carry all the people I have met here in my heart forever.
To all my friends and fam who read this: I love you and I'm so thankful I got to know you. You really bring out the best in me. We might be apart now but you'll be with me, wherever I go.
Home is where your heart is, my heart will forever be in Canada.
