After 2.5 months of traveling, our fuse blew...

Arriving back in Denpasar, we spent 5 hours at the airport before catching a flight to Cairns at 1am. From there, we were supposed to go directly to Port Moresby. However, our connecting flight was delayed, and we wouldn't have made it. So, we were forced into a 24-hour layover in Cairns, Australia. We landed in Cairns at 8am and drove to a motel where we spent the night. Equipped with WiFi, an ironing board, and a kettle, we used our mandatory stay here to make further travel plans and do laundry. But first, let's make some tea. We plugged the kettle into our adapter to charge all our other devices, and then it happened. The fuse blew ;-/. Our next stop had to be an electronics store, luckily they were able to replace the fuse in our adapter. Just to be safe, we also took a spare fuse with us, because we would be quite helpless without charged electronic devices. Right after that, we strolled through the streets of Cairns and along the Esplanade, the promenade, and made some final purchases at the supermarket. It's crazy, you feel at home in the supermarket. The shelves are stocked with all the things we have at home, just a bit more expensive. The supermarket was so interesting that even a group of Chinese tourists took a guided tour and learned about the cornflakes. In the evening, we met up with former AIDA diver Sandra, had a delicious burger, and experienced the Cairns nightlife in a bar.

The next morning, it's time to head back to the airport and embark on the adventure in Papua New Guinea.
