A castle park and urban greenery

It was already yesterday; we visited Egeskov Castle. And only the park. Because if you want to see the quite manageable castle, you have to endure very long waiting times. And because we didn't really feel like being around a lot of people, we decided to only visit the park. There is also a vintage car exhibition included (not that you all think, only Agnes is having a good time, no, no).

One thing that caught our attention: blankets are being sold. Because you can simply chill out on the grass and trample this really soft lawn in the entire park area. By the way, this is often seen in Denmark: so feel free to bring your own smørrebrød and sit in our garden!

Well, do you remember the thing with the many people? Well, in some places it is indeed very crowded. But most of the time, it thins out quite well. Agnes especially liked the 'children's section'. Actually, this part of the garden is more like an amusement park with a maze, bouncy castle, tree path, and many other play options. Accordingly, many children are also there. So the landscape park is particularly attractive for families.

Well, what else can you say about a park: awesome bosquet? No. Old trees, very old fuchsias (some over 80 years old), and a great herb garden? No, no, no. Oh yeah! There were peacocks! Oops, sorry, gubbl gubbl. Very cute ones even, which crossed our path several times.

Since it still wasn't raining, even though the weather forecast said otherwise, we decided to take a look at Fredericia.

View from Fredericia Rampart, in the background: Little Belt and Fyn

The city right on the Kattegat and the Little Belt is rather tranquil and peaceful. Here we walked along the bastion ring to the beach and then back through the city. Particularly impressive is that the entire rampart (#FredericiaVold) is still preserved and serves as a green area (some corners would already be suitable for a small rave).

Kids paddling pool and two-masted ship

The beach is also super beautiful! Maybe it was because of the weather, but it was also very quiet here. Small highlight: a two-masted ship on the horizon.

Are you also in the club?
