Skycity Auckland

Hu hu,

After the events in Hobbiton, we went to the largest city in New Zealand, Auckland. Auckland alone has as many residents as the entire South Island!!

That's why we decided to book a city tour so we could see as much as possible. We found a day tour on bookme that included a bus tour, boat tour, and access to the Skytower. It started at 9:45 am. After about 2.5 hours of guided bus tour (including breaks) through the city, we had time for lunch before the boat tour through the harbor started at 1:30 pm. After 1.5 hours of boat tour, we were taken to the Skytower at around 3:30 pm. There, we could redeem our tickets independently and stay as long as we wanted. We stayed for a long time because we wanted to see Auckland from above at night and the view was simply amazing. This tour is highly recommended, you get to see everything in the city, it's affordable, and stress-free. The view from the Skytower is indescribable... and even more beautiful at night.

We didn't get home until late and went to bed quickly. We also found a wine tour on bookme, which we booked for the next day on Waiheke Island. Waiheke Island is a small island about a 30-minute boat ride away from Auckland and can only be reached by boat or helicopter. When we arrived on the island, someone was waiting for us and took us and 4 other people to 3 different wineries for wine tasting. At one winery, we were also able to try homemade schnapps, which of course we did :D It was super interesting and we also had a BBQ for lunch. This island is so breathtakingly beautiful and the wine wasn't bad either. We thought it was a great experience and you should definitely do it if you're in Auckland ;)
