Day 17 - Vietnam / Ho Chi Minh City

Today our travel group has expanded -> Carolin and Karolina (Carolin's classmate) are joining us for the second part of our trip to Vietnam after finishing their study program in Taiwan.

We took the HSR train to Taipei and then flew to Ho Chi Minh City (approximately 3 hours).

It was quite an experience at the airport - seeing what people bring along with them. Everyone seemed to have 2 additional boxes along with their huge suitcases. It was quite interesting at the baggage claim area to see how everyone found their correct boxes - especially since it took forever for our suitcases to arrive. But with so many boxes, it's no wonder.

We were picked up and taken to our hotel - it was already 9:00 PM and the city was still lively after the new year.

Our hotel is amazing - very luxurious and elegant with all imaginable amenities. We were welcomed with a good red wine and a fruit basket. The minibar is all-inclusive and replenished daily, there is a TV in the bathroom, and there are curtains that automatically open with the touch of a button, showcasing a view of the river.

To end the day, we had a cocktail at the bar before falling into a restful sleep.
