Plitvice Lakes

प्रकाशित: 28.10.2023

We chose the very official campsite to visit Plitvice Lakes. Maybe 20 more campers in a space for 200. The restaurant is still open. From 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. What a service! It's winter here from November 1st.

The morning welcomed us cool, but sunny after dusk. 9 a.m. bus shuttle to Entrance 1. We've already gotten used to the fact that we pay an entrance fee for nature. Everything has to be looked after like that. Why don't we actually pay entrance fees for our highways?

47 € were gone and so was the sun. The man with the two-stroke leaf blower welcomed us. Get rid of those annoying leaves! It became cold and shady and the large waterfall disappeared into the gray and behind the large number of paying guests. We boycotted taking photos for an hour. Somehow we hadn't imagined it like that.

As the distance increased, we accepted the tourist importance of this place and the sun began to shine, reconciliation came into our hearts. Everything seemed like a perfect production of nature. Here and there a little waterfall, there a few fish in the crystal clear water and autumn-colored leaves on the trees.

Or IS that nature? So beautiful, so perfect, so flattering?

“The Plitvice Lakes are just amazing,” as Finn commented yesterday.

And everything is perfectly organized. Perfect routing on chestnut wood planks, a boat for the short cut and a Unimog transfer back for those who are lazy.

Yes, you can do it that way! 1.5 million people every year want to see this beautiful spectacle of nature. And are happy to pay for it. Would they also pay to preserve nature on their doorstep?

After hiking 12 km, we took a coffee in a paper cup, got on our shuttle and made some sales in the restaurant.
