Last working day and rough itinerary for the first two months

You see that you see nothing. Or at least not so much. The desks are emptied, everything is set up for our long-term absence. The preparations are now in the very last stages and in a few days, it will actually start.

Since we have been asked this very frequently in the last few days, here is a rough outline for the first part of our trip.

We will of course start at Frankfurt Airport with a flight with LAN to Santiago de Chile with a short stopover in São Paulo for changing planes. Then we will spend a few days in the capital of Chile. From there, we will go north to the Atacama Desert. From there, we will fly to central Chile, with Temuco being the starting point. We will then drive through the lake and volcano area with a rental car and also cross the border to Argentina. We were already in the Argentine Switzerland nearly eight years ago and I am especially looking forward to the ice cream parlor with incredibly delicious flavors. :-) Back in Chile, we will go back to the Pacific coast to Chiloe Peninsula with its penguin colony. Then we will fly all the way south to Patagonia and spend a few days in Torres del Paine National Park. We were already there for three days back then and we still believe that it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. From there, we will finally go over to Argentina, El Calafate with the magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier - it can't get more fascinating - and El Chalten with Fitz Roy. Argentina's capital Buenos Aires will be the end of the first two months and then we will get on the ship. We have already published the route.
