Koh Lanta old town

Another bad night, so we still have to work on sleeping somehow... it's hot, loud from the fan and some bass outside, strange without a real blanket, somehow just exhausting.

Ronja wanted to be burned by a mosquito bite from Nina. She was so in pain that she pinched Nina aka Firebird's neck with her claws. Ouch. For both.

Nevertheless, we got up at some point and went back to our nice landlady for breakfast. Avocado bagel! Excellent! After we looked for our laundry and handed it over to be washed, we looked for a TukTuk for the first time. The woman who has been screaming at us since we arrived here saying “TAXI??!! TAXI??!! … TUKTUK??” doesn’t seem to notice that she scares us away and annoys us with her screams! Several times a day. So we walked a few meters up the street and spoke to another really nice TukTuk driver. We acted, by our standards: well. He took us across the island to the old town. The ride was bumpy but very funny, the driver also had to laugh with us. At times there is an indefinably disgusting smell on the island, but sometimes it almost certainly smells like burnt garbage or plastic. The old town is small but nice. There are a few cute shops with clothes and other handmade items. From bracelets to small wooden elephants to candles and soaps. There was even a hammock shop. And of course some restaurants. After lunch we got a banana shake and bought one for our waiting TukTuk driver. He was glad! We drove back together, very grateful for the cooling wind. We saw monkeys again! And a cow with a heron? on the back.

A short break in the room before heading to the beach. Here we laid out our towels for our upcoming yoga session. To do this, we watched a Mady Morrison video on YouTube and stretched in the sunset. Very relaxed and soothing! Completely relaxed, we went back at some point to wash all the sand off our bodies in the shower. After dinner we stopped at a beach bar again and talked about our vacation experiences with other friends.

“But I don’t want a beach in my bottom!”
