Bandhavgarh 2024

Our sabbatical year is over, but our desire to travel has not been satisfied. Hesse is offering three-week Easter holidays this year, and we have decided to go to see the Indian tigers again (and then go snorkeling in the Maldives). After our experiences from 10 months ago, we are starting again in Bandhavgarh National Park. Here we have 6 observation trips, on 2 of which we don't see any tigers at all. But 2 times we have very good sightings, and the other 2 times are more average. In total, we saw 8 tigers in Bandhavgarh NP this time (4 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 children) and of course a lot of other animals.
Since we were here a little earlier in the year than last time, it wasn't quite as hot - the maximum daily temperatures were usually just under 40°C, and in the morning you could still use a blanket in the open safari vehicle.

Our gap year is unfortunately over, but we are still not traveling. This year, Marion's Easter holidays are 3 weeks long, and we decided to repeat the visit to the Indian tigers and to go snorkeling in the Maldives afterwards. Based on our experiences from 10 months ago, we started in the Bandhavgarh National Park again - this time going on 6 safari trips into the forest. On two of these trips we did not see any tigers at all. While two of the other trips were rather average, on the remaining two trips we had very impressive sightings. Overall we saw 8 tigers in Bandhavgarh (4 adults, 2 subadults, 2 juveniles), and of course a lot of other animals as well.
As this time we were here earlier in the year, the temperature has not been as hot as last time where we usually had around 40° celsius. This time, a warm blanket in the open safari jeeps was very welcome in the mornings, while at noon the 40 was again within reach.
