Day 16 BREST 21.08.2022

So today we're just chilling. We're not doing any activities, which is supported by the rainy weather. Only the Sunday shopping, usual here, was done before breakfast. Then we can report that we managed to become a member of NETFLIX. The apartment has a smart TV and watching a series on a lazy day is not bad at all. Also, we discussed our further program yesterday: We canceled the planned bike tour along the canal from Brest to Nantes. We want to do more hiking, specifically on coastal paths. That's possible on two peninsulas south of Brest. We also found proper hiking maps (1:25,000) in a bookstore in Brest. With such maps, we also hike in the hiking group. We are already looking forward to rugged cliffs and rough seas with a sharp wind blowing from the front and a backpack on our backs. But all in day trips that lead back to the hotel. The first base camp is Telgruc-Sur-Mer and we'll take care of the second hotel later. We're moving the bike riding to the Loire. We had also planned a few buffer days there.

In general, we realized yesterday that such travel tours don't have to be organized from start to finish. Thanks to the internet, we can let ourselves drift stress-free and implement ideas at any time. It's just perfect!
