The most beautiful place is very close

10 o'clock departure from Cuxhaven. We board the catamaran. I wonder how many people will go on the ship. I estimate at least 1000. I can't think about this question for long, because the first passengers are frantically looking for a seat. They push, shove, and rush like vultures to the sun loungers and cafeteria chairs. From the inside, the ship looks like a living room. A large TV hangs on the wall, showing fish and sharks swimming in the sea. It's supposed to have a calming effect. A sofa landscape, as big as at home, invites you to sleep. More and more people come on board. I take my backpack and move towards the deck. I still need a comfortable seat for the next three hours of sailing. The sun loungers are already taken. 'Take your backpack in your hand,' a ship's employee says to me firmly but kindly. I obediently listen and put it down. Why? I still don't know. I find a seat in the cafeteria with a view of the sea. Perfect. Everywhere around me, people are grounding themselves, laughing, and, above all, drinking. I put my earplugs in, lean back in my chair, and watch the sea. In 3 hours, I will finally be in Heligoland.
