Roadtrip Day 19 / Barn Hill Station

प्रकाशित: 03.10.2017

From Broome, we drove 150 km to a cattle farm with a campground. Before that, we bought cevapcici and tomatoes at the supermarket, so we could enjoy another excellent lunch. We also bought binoculars at the camper shop. Now we can observe the birds and the sea/nature better.

The farm is 10 km wide and 50 km long, with a fantastic 50 km long beach in the 'garden'. Swimming was allowed, but please be cautious. There are currently many sharks around, and two weeks ago there were still crocodiles on the beach. So, we decided once again to just observe the water. A part of the beach belongs to the famous 'Eighty Mile Beach'. Yet another beautiful place with stunning untouched nature.

In the morning, we were awakened by two cattle who were having breakfast next to us. We quickly ran to the car and waited there until the two were done. We were not comfortable with these muscular wild cattle, which on average weigh 750/800 kg and do not look friendly at all.

After our breakfast (muesli and milk made from powdered milk and water) and a shower, we continued 600 km to Port Hedland. There, we will stay at a campground and tomorrow we will go shopping and explore the city.
