Copenhagen 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰

प्रकाशित: 03.07.2023

Arrival and campsite

When I saw that the weather was going to get worse on Saturday, I decided to leave for Copenhagen on Saturday morning.

To get to Copenhagen you have to drive over the Great Belt Bridge. Almost 18 km along the bridge and at the end 80€ poorer (but it was great to drive across the water).

In the rain I arrived here at noon on the pitch. I had decided in advance for this place because it is only 15 minutes by bike from the city I had probably not read or seen more.

My first impression when driving in, shit what is that here?! Feel-good factor at minus 10. I try to speak positively about the good location. Works so semi. At least there are showers and toilets in one if you want. Sometimes it can also have advantages if, like me, you haven't been able to smell anything for a while ☺️

You can't wash the dishes here, so I have to eat something in town for better or worse 😀

But it's not that bad here either, a bit noisy and cramped, but ultimately I'm only here to sleep and out and about during the day.

sightseeing tour

For the last 3 days I've been traveling all over the place by bike, on foot, bus and boat.

This city is really very beautiful. Great city center, everywhere in the side streets you can still discover something.

On Saturday I got on my bike and explored the city a bit by bike. Went to Rosenberg Castle, Amalienborg Royal Palace and happened to see the changing of the guard. Queen Margareta was not there because no flag was hoisted and no music was played.

Sunday I started with the hop off hop on bus and bought a ticket for all lines. After I finally found the departure station and the bus finally came, of course I was on the wrong bus🤣 It doesn’t matter, then I just took the small line and later switched to the big line including the trip to the little 🧜‍♀️ mermaid , the symbol of the city. To be honest, I don't understand the hype about it. Then I cycled to Nyhaven and treated myself to a delicious waffle, that was more of the highlight.

Monday I got up again and wanted to do the canal trip. It rained quite a bit on the way there, but when I got to the open boat, the weather was beautiful. The ride led under some very, very small bridges and sometimes you had to duck your head. We had a nice travel companion who told us everything possible about the city. The sky was getting darker and darker above us, the wind picked up and rain ponchos were distributed. The nice lady talks and talks while the world was practically ending over us, people were busy with the ponchos and to protect themselves and it was super windy. There was a lot of laughter, the poncho in front of you was always in your face or your own just wanted to be blown away... I think it rained heavily for at least 30 minutes of the 60 minutes. I was soaking wet when I got out. But what did the meanwhile very wet companion say so nicely: "If you don't like rain, you shouldn't come to Copenhagen". As soon as we got off the ship, the sun was shining brightly again. Then I went shopping a bit and then went to see the football stadium. From Wednesday there will be a few Coldplay concerts. Thought I can't drive without seeing the stadium. But wasn't worth mentioning, couldn't see anything. On the way back to the campsite (how could it be any different today) I got caught in a rain shower again.

My conclusion from Copenhagen: Nice 😃😊 Copenhagen is worth one or more trips. There are 2 bicycles for every inhabitant, so I fit in very well with my 3 ☺️ A great city for cycling, great cycle paths. Virtually the whole city is cycling. The people are super nice and I felt very comfortable here.

Hey Hej 🇩🇰 - goodbye bye

Tomorrow I'll be on the way back, driving to Rödby and then taking the ferry to Puttgarden. I'm curious how everything works with the Womo.
