Thirty-sixth day: Los Alerces National Park, Trevelin and Esquel (May 16, 2019)

प्रकाशित: 16.05.2019

Actually, we believe we have seen everything before: Andes, lakes, cattle, horses, and roads with and without asphalt that lead to infinity. But we can't help ourselves and drive through the entire length of the national park and even get out to hike along a wide river. We don't expect any more surprises.

But then, at 5:00 p.m., we find ourselves in front of a tea house in Trevelin and enjoy a tea hour in the style of Wales. Completely in style - down to the clothing of the staff, the subtle background music, and of course, the dishes and tablecloth. Finally, no more running television! Every slice of cake in the service is a poem, the tea is excellent.

In Esquel, Gaby discovers a shirt in a shop window. We enter the store and feel like we've been transported back at least 75 years. They have everything from screws to cosmetics and cookware, to fabrics and shirts. In the end, you have to pay at the cashier. I wait in the clothing section and when no one serves me, the employee in the shoe section explains that I need to take a number. I look for a number dispenser and even after repeated inquiries ("just around the corner"), I can't find a way to get a number. Overwhelmed, we give up and wish to be instantly transported to the present time. But we take the impressions with us. Just around the corner, there is a button and zipper store, next to it a store called "Everything Loose" with lucky beads and nuts - everything in containers or bags to be taken away in brought containers or plastic bags in the store.
