Vermont Brewery Tour (09.02.) (1)

प्रकाशित: 10.02.2019

On February 9th, I went on a car trip with Zach's uncle Jim to visit the best breweries in Vermont. During the drive, we had very interesting conversations. For example, I learned that there is a unique type of East Coast IPA in Canada that is very malty and bitter. However, Canadians, especially in Quebec, make very good saison beers and other Belgian beer styles.

Our first stop was at Lawson's Finest Liquids. Here, there was a completely newly built facility with a cozy extension for bottle sales and the pub. Everything is designed in a typical Vermont style, as Jim told me.

Sugarhouse IPA 6.2%

Very pleasant fruity IPA, hazy with low bitterness and a nice body.

Double Sunshine IPA 8%

The similarity to Sip of Sunshine (see Burlington, VT (2)) is immediately noticeable. Very good drinkability!

For home, we also got a can of App Gap Saison and a bottle of Fayston Maple Chocolate Tart Cherry Imperial Stout:

App Gap Saison (Farmhouse Ale/Saison) 4.5%

Very good saison! Spicy, fruity esters from the yeast in a pleasant amount, dry finish; great drinkability!

Fayston Maple Chocolate Tart Cherry Imperial Stout 10.1%

A stout with cherries, cocoa, and maple syrup.
