Day 18/29 - from Swellendam to Franschhoek

This morning we continued from Swellendam to Franschhoek in the Winelands 🍷And I have to say... last-minute booking is our thing 😂 After struggling to find accommodations in Italy, this time we booked all the accommodations 5 days before departure. So that the families at home can sleep peacefully 😉
Since we were actually early for check-in, we enjoyed a delicious lunch with beer tasting for Basti and a playground for Anni. The beers were all great, and the food was delicious too.
We have arrived in paradise 😍 The journey was adventurous as we had to cross a river to get to the accommodation. But we all had so much fun and it was another little adventure 🤩 Now we have a small cottage on a farm with an outdoor pool and a pomegranate tree outside the window 😍 Everything is designed with great attention to detail. The property is also beautifully landscaped and planted. It is small, quiet, and charming. There is a small playground, a natural pool, and a few children for Anni to play with. Vegetables are grown and a few animals are kept. There is freshly baked bread, freshly laid eggs, homemade butter, and homemade cosmetics. The property is completely solar-powered and the wastewater is reused to water the plants (which is why you should only use the shower products from here). Everything is beautifully decorated. There are small vases with flowers from the garden everywhere. There is also a yoga studio and you can participate in yoga every morning 🧘🏽♀️We have never had such amazing accommodations on any trip before 😍
Returning home is definitely not an option right now 🙈 We already know that 4 weeks is definitely too short for this wonderful country ❤️
However, since it is quite hot here, we spent the afternoon in the pool and in the evening we enjoyed the eggs, bread, and butter in the garden with the most beautiful sunset. Just before going to bed, Basti and Anni went outside again to look at the stars. As there are hardly any other houses and therefore no light around here, the starry sky here is incredible ✨ We could even see the Milky Way in the sky. A beautiful end to this amazing day 😍
