Monday late night my flight to Thailand started. We left Vienna at 23:20 and the flying time was about 10 hours. I was lucky in two ways: the seat beside me was empty and after watching a movie I managed to sleep quite a bit. And the person sitting on the aisle seat was a young flight attendant from Lufthansa who loved backpacking in South East Asia and provided me with many useful tips.
Shortly after breakfast I was about to experience the first highlight of my trip: I was allowed to sit in the cockpit with the captain and the two copilots during landing approach and landing in Bangkok!
As I am absolutely crazy about planes this landing experience made me very happy!
The immigration procedure at Bangkok airport was very well organized and despite the many people arriving it took me just about 20 minutes to get through Immigration. As I had hand luggage only I didn't have to wait at the luggage belt and was ready right in time to drive together with the crew to the Mariott Marquis hotel in Sukhumvit 22.
After checking in at the fancy hotel - I was allowed to stay with my flight attendant friend together in a room - we took a quick shower and were ready for our first night in Bangkok.
