Towards Tsitsikamma National Park via Jeffreys Bay

Publicēts: 16.04.2021

Now that I'm back in Cape Town, it's time to talk about the second week of my trip. During this time, I had a change of accommodation daily, had many experiences, and often had no internet in my room, so I couldn't take the time to document everything here.

This will now follow, and first, we went from Addo to Jeffreys Bay for one night. This place is especially a highlight for surfers, so apart from a walk on the beach, a beautiful sunset, a delicious dinner, and a wonderful sunrise, there wasn't much to experience for me. And I've probably never enjoyed as many sunrises and sunsets as I have on this trip, so we will also follow with some corresponding pictures :D

From Jeffreys Bay, we then continued on to Tsitsikamma National Park. I had already visited this park on my first trip, and since there was thick fog right on the coast, I was very glad that I had been to the suspension bridge before. This time, I wanted to experience the Canopy Tour, which I had already booked in advance. After a short introduction, we went to the starting point and then went on 9 different courses (length, height, and speed vary) through the treetops. Accompanied by two guides, the motto was simply to let go and enjoy the view and the feeling of freedom! The whole experience lasted just under 2.5 hours, and then we went directly to the accommodation after a delicious pizza for lunch, as there wasn't much else to do, especially with the weather.

I was able to spend this night in one of my favorite accommodations (because of the solitude and the view), and the sound of the waterfall right below my own chalet definitely made the overnight stay a highlight. Fortunately, the weather cleared up somewhat the next morning, so I could at least enjoy the existing view of the sea during breakfast.
