Today, the bucket list was reduced a little bit. I was on the mountain of the Great Wall of China in Mutianyu. Honestly, I never thought beforehand whether this would be tiring š¤. But believe me, it is unbelievably exhausting. I wouldn't do it again at the age of 50 š. Apparently, the construction standards 700 years ago were not as strict, so each of the over 6,000! steps has a different height š (up to 80cm per stepš³). Anyone who gets up here without stumbling, sweating, and taking breaks, something is not right with them š. In total, I walked up the stairs for 3 hours š³. However, it is also a very sublime feeling to stand at the top and take out a triumphant beer from my backpack šŗ. And we went down with the summer toboggan run š.
The evening is now ending in the Beijing Northwest Lake area, a huge bar and street food district š. With a freshly poured Erdinger beer š and live Chinese pop music š. However, this is well deserved due to the muscle soreness that awaits me tomorrow š.
As for food, today I also treated myself to the outstanding Peking duck and Peking soup. Due to various language barriers, the soup was slightly oversized š. In between, I had to stop at a nice tea house as well šµ.
Now it's time to finish the drinks and head to the airport, where my flight to Hanoi will depart at 01:30 am in 4.5 hours. So, once again, no sleep tonight š...
