Great Wall of China šŸ’Ŗ

Publicēts: 26.11.2018

Today, the bucket list was reduced a little bit. I was on the mountain of the Great Wall of China in Mutianyu. Honestly, I never thought beforehand whether this would be tiring šŸ¤”. But believe me, it is unbelievably exhausting. I wouldn't do it again at the age of 50 šŸ˜‚. Apparently, the construction standards 700 years ago were not as strict, so each of the over 6,000! steps has a different height šŸ™ˆ (up to 80cm per stepšŸ˜³). Anyone who gets up here without stumbling, sweating, and taking breaks, something is not right with them šŸ˜‚. In total, I walked up the stairs for 3 hours šŸ˜³. However, it is also a very sublime feeling to stand at the top and take out a triumphant beer from my backpack šŸŗ. And we went down with the summer toboggan run šŸ˜.

The evening is now ending in the Beijing Northwest Lake area, a huge bar and street food district šŸ˜‹. With a freshly poured Erdinger beer šŸ™ˆ and live Chinese pop music šŸ˜‚. However, this is well deserved due to the muscle soreness that awaits me tomorrow šŸ˜Š.

As for food, today I also treated myself to the outstanding Peking duck and Peking soup. Due to various language barriers, the soup was slightly oversized šŸ˜‚. In between, I had to stop at a nice tea house as well šŸµ.

Now it's time to finish the drinks and head to the airport, where my flight to Hanoi will depart at 01:30 am in 4.5 hours. So, once again, no sleep tonight šŸ™„...
