The day before yesterday we went on a tour by ourselves again - from waterfall to waterfall. The day was so worth it. Stop 1: The Boulders. That looked super cool! Theoretically, you could have gone swimming there, but it was a bit too cold for us 😁 Stop 2: Josefine Falls. The attentive reader recognizes.. Wait, they've been there before! Right! But we were warmly recommended to go there when the weather is nice and go swimming. Said and done! And it was confirmed. The Josefine Falls were the highlight of the day. We unintentionally went into the water pretty quickly. We had to climb over some stones and rocks to get there. They weren't always easy to see in the water, which is why it got pretty deep. Short shock of cold. Onwards. Eventually, we made it to the very front. Thanks to the current, you had to fight hard to get to the next stage - the natural slide. Before we slid down again, we climbed a bit further, took some great photos. When do you get to stand in the middle of a waterfall?! The slide was also great. The rock had been washed soft by the water. Then even Miss Clara emerged 🌞 Stop 3: Millaa Millaa Falls. You could have gone swimming there too, but unfortunately the water felt like 5 degrees^^ We started there and the usual weather drama started... Rain. Fog. Low-hanging clouds. So the lookout over the tablelands was pointless. As expected.. hardly started driving again, the sun was shining. Stop 4: Elinja Falls (or something like that). Stop 5: Zallie Falls (or something like that). Stop 6: Lake Eacham - a volcanic lake. There we saw lots of little turtles and fish. Theoretically meant for swimming, but the rain had made it significantly cooler. Stop 7: Curtain Fig Tree. A tree covered by another tree, the roots of which search for soil. Huge, 5m wide.. Crazy what nature does. After that we went home again. Actually, we wanted to go out in the evening.. Somehow didn't work so well^^
Yesterday we went on another tour in the rainforest. But this time, a different route. We rode a cable car over the forest. Incredibly beautiful views! The destination was Kuranda. A small hippie town turned tourist hotspot. There we accidentally indulged ourselves quite a bit. Here something nice, there something small.. and whoops, the wallet was empty. Ooops. We returned with an ancient train that presented the most beautiful views once again. It took us a whole 2 hours for the short distance. In the evening, we pulled ourselves together and went to Gilligan's. A well-known hostel with a bar and disco. It didn't take long and we had found new friends. Aaand.. GinTonic for $5. Aaand.. Ladiesnight. Champagne for free. That's the way to live!
