It's that time again, the Neue Kammerchor Heidenheim is going on a concert tour. This year's destination is the second largest island in the Mediterranean: Sardinia. 61 male and female singers, choir conductor Thomas Kammel, choir mom Sylvia Lohse, and Daniela Burkart as an additional companion left Schiller-Gymnasium Heidenheim on time at 11:15 am for Zurich Airport. During a short stopover in Ulm, we picked up our pianist Alwina Meissner and could now start the journey to the south with a full group.
Since we arrived at the airport more than 3 hours before departure, we could calmly check-in and go through security, we even had time for a little Jägermeister tasting!
After a flight of about an hour and a half, we took two buses from Olbia Airport, and it took us another hour and a half to reach our hotel in the town of Dorgali on the east coast of the island.
After this first long day of travel, we are now tired and exhausted and looking forward to what Sardinia has in store for us!
