After an easy overnight bus ride, we arrived in Chiang Mai in northern Thailand early in the morning.
After checking in at the hostel, we took a 'tuk-tuk', a local taxi, to visit the Village of the Long Neck Ladies. There was already a huge graffiti on the wall of our hostel depicting one of these women.
After a good hour's drive, we reached the 'park'.
The park showcases various tribes in their traditional clothing in their surroundings.
It was quite interesting to see, but it also had a somewhat bitter taste. One felt a bit like in a zoo, where people are exhibited and can be photographed. We didn't feel really comfortable and therefore didn't spend much time in this park, despite the expensive entrance fee.
Back in Chiang Mai, we visited the Sunday Night Market for dinner.
A huge, if not infinite, market where you can buy all sorts of things. But we were particularly interested in the food and tried our way through all the stalls. The highlight of today's meal was the insects that we indulged in.
We tried a total of 5 different types, with the result that they all tasted about the same, namely fried. But you have to try them.
