Next stop: Chiang Mai

Today we headed to Chiang Mai, in the far north of Thailand. Far away from beaches and city hustle and bustle! And from today on, we're on our own. Yvonne and Liam have started their journey back home, so it's just the two of us now. We flew here from Bangkok in just over an hour. At the airport, Nora's eyes lit up when she saw the McDonald's sign. So we had to make a cheeseburger pit stop on the way to the gate😄

Our accommodation here is located in the heart of Chiang Mai's old town. The rooms are large but very simple. But that's generally normal here. The owner is a young Thai man, and his English is absolutely fluent (although with an Asian accent) - it's delightful! Finally, we can have conversations without using our hands and feet 😄

One of the things I've wanted to do is take a cooking class in Thai cuisine. I've now booked one for Monday!! I'm really excited and can't wait!!
