Hallo ihr drei, es ist schön eure Reis zu verfolgen. Lg PepePublicēts: 13.08.2017
Visited Papa's cousins in the evening.
Our families all live in areas where a group of houses is fenced in and you can only enter through a gate, with a security person. At our grandma's, they're just there for decoration. At our aunt's, they take down your details and call the house to let them know you're visiting. At the cousins', they just write down the details.
That brings us to the point that security is important here. While we were sitting at the dining table, one cousin gets a call. Here's how it went:
Person on the phone (panicky voice, woman): I'm being held in a car here, if you don't pay, they won't let me go.
Cousin (completely unfazed): Just get out.
Woman: I can't!!
Cousin: Well, too bad then, have fun. (And hangs up)
- the whole thing was kind of funny, but also unsettling that these calls seem to happen often here.
Margaritas were invented here in Juarez and I haven't had a single one, buuuuhhhh! And tomorrow (13.08.) we're already heading to Mexico City.
