Reports from a night train in Thailand:
A peaceful sleep is not to be expected. The train was constantly shaking. However, the 12.5 hour journey actually passed relatively quickly. The 3.5 hours of sleep the night before had made it possible to sleep somewhat. Arrival in Chiang Mai at 12:10 pm. It wasn't as bad as I had imagined.
Taxi to the hostel and into the pool. Went out for dinner, checked into the room. In the evening, we sat together in the lobby and decided, along with what felt like the entire hostel, to go out. The hostel provided the first beer for the way. At the location, there were Long Island pitchers for €15. Quite expensive. The two of us finished it. Since Marwin paid for the first one, I also had to get one. In the end, we were very drunk. I was just looking for people to help us finish the pitcher. We danced on the dance floor.
The bar closed at 2 o'clock. We decided to go home. On the way, I had a little unlucky fall and suffered a few scrapes, but not a big deal. The worst part was that somehow I lost my glasses. Annoying, but Robert is prepared for every situation and had packed his spare glasses before the trip.
