Today we slept in a bit longer and first went for breakfast at Mellis, which is near our hotel. The coffee and baked goods there are good and inexpensive. It's always crowded in the morning because it is very popular in the city center. Today, we also met some Germans who are already in San Francisco for the seventh time. They start here and then continue through the parks all the way to Las Vegas.
After breakfast, we took the bus towards Coit Tower, but had to walk the last part. Wow, those were some strenuous inclines to the Coit Tower. The steepest street in San Francisco has an incline of 31.5%.
Upon arriving at the tower, we had to climb 234 steps to get to the very top 😂. But it was worth it again because the view was truly magnificent! A 360° panoramic view of the city. 😍
After that, we headed back towards downtown when we spontaneously stopped at the breakfast restaurant Mama's Sahne at Washington Square. At first, we only wanted to have something to drink, but then we ended up eating a baguette with salmon and salad. 😋
On our way to the hotel, we briefly stopped at one of the nearby churches, which will please Grandma, and lit a candle for seven dollars. So, even God takes a little extra here. 😅
We freshened up briefly at the hotel and then took the train again towards Oracle Park, where we had tickets for our first baseball game. After I found a new cap 🧢 from the Giants, we went straight to the stadium. Before that, we had to check in our backpack. At the FC this is free, but here it costs a whopping twelve dollars. So definitely don't take a backpack to the stadium. A bag is allowed, though..
Since we hadn't eaten anything yet, I treated myself to a sandwich in the stadium. I thought it was chicken, but unfortunately, it was shrimp and didn't taste good at all. 😖
The Giants' game was great. They won against Milwaukee by a landslide, 13:2. Our first visit was therefore a win for the home team. ⚾️ 🧢 It was cool to see that live 🙂
