Hello dear ones,
On Sunday (08.10) we set off from Taupo towards Napier. Unfortunately, it rained incessantly all day, so we arrived in Napier already at noon. We had our lunch break at Bluff Lookout, enjoying peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Unfortunately, due to the thick clouds, we didn't really see much. So, we went to the iSite and got some information about things to do in the rain. The lady there was very kind and gave us some good tips. Our first stop was the MTG Hawke's Bay Museum. There was a very interesting exhibition about an earthquake that shook the region in 1931. The other two floors showcased local Maori culture and there was an art exhibition. After leaving the museum, luckily it had stopped raining for a short while, so we walked through the city and made a detour to the supermarket before going back to the car. Then, we drove to our campsite, a large parking lot right by the sea and just 5 minutes away from the city. There, we had delicious wraps and rearranged the car. We had just finished when it started raining again.
The rain didn't stop all night, so the next morning we were practically trapped in the car. After some consideration, we started rearranging the car without leaving it. Let me tell you, it wasn't easy. But we managed it, except for the last box where I had to briefly leave the car to swap places. After surprisingly accomplishing this without getting wet, we drove to the library and spent some time there. I took care of my photos, applications, and the blog, while Lina read. When our two hours of free parking were over, we went back to the car and drove to the cinema. There, we had our usual lunch and watched the early afternoon showing of Kingsman 2 - The Golden Circle. It's a great movie that was just as funny as the first one. I highly recommend it if you're in the mood for a wonderfully over-the-top action comedy. Afterwards, we were lucky again and managed to drive back to the campsite without getting wet and even got the last parking spot outside the huge puddle. After finishing the remaining wraps and rearranging the car, it started raining again. And so, we went to bed early once again.
That's it from Napier. See you soon, your Jessi!
